1. Recruitment
Recruitment refers to the process of attracting, screening, and selecting qualified people for a job at an organization or firm. Personnel play an important role in recruitment process and are essential part of the company. They are closely linked with other departments. They have got a lot of responsibilities: with department managers they are responsible for recruitment, with accounts they administer payment systems. They can be also responsible for trainings. In industrial relations they have to pay attention to complaints and disputes procedures. Personnel is also called Human Resources management. HRM workers have to identify the ability of people – this part is called ‘selection procedure”; help with expansion of rights and responsibilities; destroy racial and sexual discrimination in hiring, also eliminate aggressions in the workplace; create a remuneration system for outstanding employees.
Sometimes companies can’t find the required person even with the wide range of applicants for the position. At this time company usually uses the help of headhunters or special recruitment agencies that find the appropriate applicant among the workers of other companies or just among the curriculum vitaes these agencies and headhunters already have. This system actually works the same as internet and website recruitment.
If you want to get a job you have to go through an interview. Job interviewing is the most important and crucial process in the recruiting sphere. While many of us may not think of job interviews as a presentation, it may be the first presentation we ever make. It may also be the most critical. With a job interview we are there to "sell ourselves" not just ideas. Well-prepared self-presentation with the nice dress code taken together can let you occupy the desirable position as long as you have self-confidence and required knowledge for the job.
2. Labor relations
Labour relations are a multidisciplinary field that studies the employment relations. Labour relations usually study just unionized employment situations, but can also refer to non-union employees as well.
A union contract, also called a “collective bargaining agreement” is a legally treated document that appears to be a hinge between employee and employer. It provides details about wages, benefits hours, general working conditions, and procedures for addressing problems on the job. This agreement is negotiated between the labour union and management.
As we are talking about union contract, we must mention the main details of it and minimum wage especially. Minimum wage is daily or monthly wage that employers may legally pay to employees and workers.
Working time is the period of time that an individual spends at paid occupational labor. Many countries regulate the work week by law. Majority of countries have adopted a workweek from Monday to Friday noon, but due to religious rules in some countries, like in Israel, it lasts from Sunday to Friday. In Europe the growing predominance of 35-37 hour workweek is clearly sun.
Labour laws is the body of laws, administrative rules and precedents which address the legal rights and restrictions of working people and their organizations. The International Labor Organization is a specialized agency of the United Nations that deals with Labor Issues. It was established in 1919, nowadays headquarters are in Geneva and Switzerland.
A trade union or labour union is an organization of workers that have joined together to achieve common goals such as better working conditions. Trade unions bargains with employer and negotiates labour contracts.
International Labour Organization, labour laws and trade unions are fighting against violations of employment laws, biggest of them are bad working condition, unpaid working time and unfair dismissal.
First and violations must be understood well, but what is unfair dismissal? This term is used to desoribe an employer’s action when firing an employees. Nowadays, these is a set of organization and rules that help employees to defend themselves in the working sphere, like European trade Union confederation, International trade union confederation, trade union advisory committee.
