Oxford University was established in 1096. It is the oldest university in the English-speaking world.

There are 11,752 undergraduates and 9,621 postgraduates. Every year more than 15,000 people take part in courses offered by the Department for Continuing Education. The University, including 38 colleges and Oxford University Press employs more than 18,000 people. 41% of academic staff are citizens of foreign countries. Oxford has one of the lowest drop-out rates, only 1.6%.
The Bodleian Library, the University’s main research library, dates from 1602 and is one of the greatest libraries in the world with over 11,000,000 volumes.
Harvard University was established in 1636. It is the oldest institution of higher education in the United States.

The university is made up of eleven separate academic units – ten faculties and the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study. Harvard enrolls about 6,700 undergraduates and 14,500 graduate and professional students. More than 2,100 faculty members teach and advise there. The library collection consists of more than 17 million volumes.
The total 2011-2012 cost of attending Harvard College without financial aid is $36,305 for tuition and $52,652 for tuition, room, board and fees combined.
Moscow State University was established in 1755.
More than 40 000 students (graduate and postgraduate) and about 7 000 undergraduates study at the university, and over 5 000 specialists do the refresher course here. More than 6 000 professors and lecturers, and about 5 000 researchers work for the faculties and research institutes. Every year it enrolls about 4 000 international students.
MSU campus is an extremely complex system, with 1 000 buildings and structures and 8 dormitories. The library system is one of the largest in Russia, with its 9,000,000 books, 2,000,000 of them in foreign languages.
