39. Corridor

(AVON moves slowly and warily along the passage.)

40. Algor’s chamber

(The screen shows GABOR going after TARRANT, VILA and SOOLIN. ALGOR watches intently, unaware that Servalan is nowhere to be seen.)

ALGOR: You have seen one test of Gabor’s powers. You are about to see another!

(ALGOR turns and realizes he is alone. Alarmed, he switches off the screen and looks around. The room is silent. He is alone. ALGOR wheels himself to the centre of the room and stop. Silence. Calmly, ALGOR flicks away the arm of his wheelchair to reveal it contains the short barrel of a hidden gun.)

41. Corridor

(AVON approaches the open door to his cell. Cautiously, he glances inside the cell. Seeing no one there, he quickly moves on down the corridor. Silently, SERVALAN creeps out of the cell, having hidden in there out of view. SERVALAN watches AVON as he heads around a corner ahead, oblivious to her presence. She then turns and moves rapidly in the opposite direction, getting as far away from him as fast as she can.)

42. Edge of the woods

(GABOR powers over the sand dunes. Up ahead, in an area of sparse trees, TARRANT, VILA and SOOLIN are running for their lives. TARRANT doesn’t look where he’s running and falls into the pit. SOOLIN and VILA run back and haul TARRANT out of the pit as GABOR draws closer and closer. Finally all three are running off again, but GABOR has entered the tree line and is right on top of them.)

43. Scorpio flight deck

(As before. The lights dim further.)

SLAVE: A very few minutes and we shall not have sufficient fuel to return to base...

(DAYNA immediately operates the communicator.)

SLAVE: ...you notice that I refrain from calling you “Mistress”?

DAYNA: (into microphone) Tarrant? Tarrant!’

(There is no reply.)

44. Sand dunes

(TARRANT, VILA and SOOLIN are hurrying through the gullies and rocky outcrops, having gained a little distance but GABOR is still closing in.)

TARRANT: (out of breath) Wait a moment!

SOOLIN: (equally breathless) Any longer than a moment and we’re dead!

TARRANT: (into bracelet) Dayna? Come in, Dayna!’

DAYNA: (vo) At last! We’re very short of fuel...

TARRANT: And we’re very short of time! Listen carefully. Adjust the teleport to my frequency, then to Vila’s, then to Soolin’s. Random pick-up – and here’s the point: ten seconds re-materialisation!

VILA: I don’t get it.

TARRANT: Do it quickly, Dayna! I’ll give you the coordinates. From where we are, I go one hundred metres left! Take Vila fifty metres north, take Soolin thirty metres east!

(GABOR is approaching rapidly. The three exchange looks as DAYNA reads back her instructions.)

DAYNA: (VO) Tarrant – one hundred metres left; Vila – fifty metres north; Soolin – thirty metres east; at ten second intervals. All right, tell me when...

(GABOR stops before the trio and raises its gun.)

TARRANT: (into bracelet) Now!

(GABOR fires but the three are already dematerializing and the shot has no effect. GABOR swings to the right as TARRANT reappears and raises its gun again but TARRANT promptly dematerializes again. GABOR turns in time to see VILA appear then vanish once again. GABOR whirls back to see SOOLIN, but she dematerializes instantly. The robot turns back and forth again, confused, then turns to see TARRANT, SOOLIN and VILA now back by the rocks as they were at the start. GOBAR throws the gun away and advances on the three, who are already running. GABOR pursues them.)
