Text 1 London College of International Business Studies
The London College of International Business Studies (LCIBS) is an independent college specializing in business education and career-oriented training for international students. Based in central London, the College provides courses in business management, business finance and administration, international marketing, public relations, marketing communication, and international travel and tourism.
The College’s aims are to develop students’ professional knowledge and practical skills within their chosen specialist area, and enhance students’ employment prospects.
Most LCIBS students are those who are intending to seek employment upon completing their training at the College, either in the United Kingdom or back home, though the College also caters for students wishing to gain entry to business-related degree courses in the UK, at either undergraduate or postgraduate level.
The College has three start dates per year (in January, May and September) and full-time courses lasting from three months to two years. The majority of the College’s courses can be completed part-time during daytime hours. For some courses, intensive “fast-track” options are also available.
The College’s students have a variety of backgrounds. With an average age of 25, they include non-business graduates needing career-oriented business training to complement their degree, as well as a number of business graduates needing an additional qualification from an English-speaking country or in a specialised area of business.
The College also accepts enrolments from overseas undergraduates who are taking time out from their degree studies in order to complete a business course in the UK, as well as from school-leavers who have chosen an LCIBS programme as an alternative to a university degree or as an entry rout into a UK university.
As LCIBS is an international college, the student body also comprises a wide range of nationalities. The College currently has students from Britain, Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, North and South America, and Middle East. All areas of the globe are represented.
This mixture of cultures brings an additional and important aspect to the students’ learning experiences and also helps to create a stimulating and enriching study environment.
