Agriculture is a set of interrelated industrial enterprises for growing, storage, preparation, transportation, processing and marketing of agricultural products. Agriculture is developed on the basis of agro – industrial integration and plays an important role in most countries. After all, it performs an important social function – to provide people with food. Most of them be-long to consumer goods that affect physical health of citizens.

Ukraine has long been an agricultural country characterized by extremely favourable econo-mic and natural conditions for agricultural development and has a large consumer market of fo-od. Agriculture along with the industry plays a leading role in the economy. It accounts for almost 30% of the national income, employing about 25% of employees.

The development of agriculture and its efficiency in Ukraine are affected by numerous natural and economic factors. The most important influences on the agriculture are: *change of ownership; *formation of a mixed agricultural economy; *insurance of production and local connections between the components of agriculture.

Among the factors that influence the development of agriculture in Ukraine are: * system of management, * nature of industrial relations, * level of social – economic development, * natural resources and the structure of land resources, * technical level, * supply of labour resources, * transportation and geographical conditions.

Of great importance are the factors that affect the rational use of natural resources, meet consumers demand, participation in the international division of labour, the environment. Agrarian reform includes the realization of market economy, land reform, efficient pricing, financial –credit systems.

In general, the main problems of agriculture are: * introduction of mixed ownership, * efficient use of land, * introduction of modern technologies of agricultural crops, * development of modern Ukrainian agricultural machinery such as labour saving tools, * increased production of fertilizers.
