MEMORANDUM (MEMO)

Memorandum (pl memoranda) – isanote (oraletter) which is circulated within the organization. The reasons for writing a memo can be different but it should be short and informal.Thefollowingcomponentsof a memo are:

  • date

  • name of the person sending the memo

  • name of the person / people the memo is addressed to

A memo can be written:

- to find needed information or make arrangements about co-operation;

- to give instruction or advice/recommendation (e.g. a manager to members of his/her team);

  • to offer ideas or proposals;

  • to inform about some events or explain them.
