Internal environment
Podegiki is a limited liability company (LLC) and it has a flat organizational structure meaning that no one executes for mistakes and personal points of view. The company has an atmosphere for unlocking talents and becoming better day by day.
Michael believes that his most valuable treasure is people (employees). He says he does his best to help everyone feel that working in Podegiki is a wonderful opportunity for self-development and for expanding the boundaries of what is possible.
Business strategy is to create comfortable atmosphere, that attracts talented people and help them unlock their talents. This is the starting point. Once the step is completed, it’s easy to have happy clients and many great projects and all the goals reached. In that case, Michael confirms that his company is not for everyone. If you have never made mistakes or never learned from them, then Podegiki and you are moving different ways.
In terms of internal relationship, Michael disagrees that he is managing anything, instead, he’s asking. He loves the situation if someone defends their ideas as he created the atmosphere, where everyone can put his or her talent to life. But whether you want to do it or not depends totally on you.
That’s why Podegiki is the company for people who are developing themselves constantly, for those, who are ready to do today those things they could hardly dream about yesterday.
When compared to his competitors, Michael doesn’t know whether Podegiki is more profitable, creative, and clever. However, he ensures that it’s better than it was yesterday.
Future opportunities
No doubt, my personal thoughts on Podegiki’s near future are really positive. I remember when I met Michael for the first time, which was the last also. It was back in 2011, and the advertising company that I worked for was involved in the same project with Podegiki. We were optimizing a website for the music festival while Michael was responsible for the event’s opening and closing procedures. I say Michael because it was literally just him and maybe 3-4 other people doing work. I think at that time he had no more than 12-15 employees, some of them were not even paid! They just volunteered for him to get experience. During our conversations he seemed very laid-back and maybe a little crazy. When, however, we started to work on the project issues, I saw a completely different person with great leader skills, very demanding and detail-oriented. Now the company has expended dramatically which I would never think 2 years ago. Of course, a lot of that has to do with overall business growth in the country, but it is clear to me that he deserves what he has achieved.
Again, because of changing business environment in Russia, it is hard to predict where the company will be in 5 years from now. The economy is growing but its unstable, nevertheless, I have high expectations for Podegiki. Just because Michael is smart, reliable, and easy to deal with, people will always want to work with him.
In terms of financial investments, I would not put my money in this type of business, because I don’t think it needs money as much as it needs efficient employees. One could say that efficient employees might need in which case my investments would help, but I don’t think so either. Event management field provides with values much more important than money, such as an opportunity to create and explore. Therefore, as Michael mentioned it multiple times, investing money won’t help at all, investing time to train great people for his company is the only right option. And that’s exactly what he’s doing right now as he just recently started educational courses at his brand new Academy of Event Management.
