Executive Summary

The project research is based on Skype interview with CEO of Event Agency “Podegiki”. The company was found in 2002 in Saint-Petersburg, Russia, with a start-up cost of only $1000. After 10 years in operation “Podegiki” is recognized as the best event agency certified by the Russian Association of Communication and Corporate Media Directors (2011/2012). The interviewee, Michail Voronin, brings a unique viewpoint to his overall evaluation of the company’s successes: “As all the team members share the same interests and values, it is comparatively easy to follow the policy of efficiency in communication, work, behavior, and everything related to the process of event organization.”

Since 2007, when the agency opened its branch office in Moscow, Michael, as he prefers people to call him, witnessed company’s tremendous 400% overall growth in annual revenue. In fact, his business developed from a tiny loft in his brother’s office to a company with almost 50 employees creating events for famous international brands such as Pepsico, Audi, Renault, and Mars.

As a graduate of the first class of SKOLKOVO Executive MBA syllabus, he still believes that it’s hard to find a person who makes as many mistakes as he does. His advantage, however, is his willing to learn from these mistakes. Even the company policy is made based on his and other employees’ bad experience.

In the following pages we will discuss Michael’s entrepreneurial road to success as well as future business opportunities of Event Agency “Podegiki”.

Entrepreneur’s profile

M ichail Michailovich Voronin (February 22, 1981 – Saint Petersburg, Russia) is an entrepreneur and the founder, chairman, and CEO of Event Agency Podegiki. Through Podegiki, he is widely recognized as a charismatic innovator of the event management industry.

Author of "Jump into the dream or sales in event" intensive training, discovering 10 years of persistent relationship with partners building of the company, Michael is also known as adviser and business coach at "Ё" Academy – event management school which he founded last year. He is Permanent participant and speaker of events and HR conferences.

Michael received recognition in event industry after a number of successful projects within recent years. His company was listed as the Best Event-agency in 2012 (Association for communication and corporate media in Russia (AKKMR) version). His employees describe him as an honest and very open-minded person. As a true perfectionist, Michael is one hundred percent passionate about details supporting it with personal experience of developing an event company from scratch. While being a very creative person himself, his main talent is to find other peoples’ talents. As he points out, only 20% of overall success belong to creativity, therefore it’s is crucial to find employees willing to dedicate themselves to work.

Company profile

Podegiki, LLC, is a full cycle event company. It helps its customers to organize the events that solve business problems. It has organized more than 800 events in Russia and in foreign countries in 11 years. Podegiki agency provides integrated service for big corporate clients, the organization of all types of events during a year. Also, the company is experienced in the organization of large-scale events.

The company started its work with organizing hoaxes. So, podegiki basically means “hedgehoaxing” people. Many years passed by. Hoaxes are out of team’s interest. But the name remained. As Michael mentioned in the interview, “It’s fresh, not plastic – it’s real. Like people, who work in our company.”

The company is proud of its relationship inside the team and with clients. It’s all based is reliability. Every employee is expected to know the policy and act on behalf of stated rules. The following are 6 interesting key points recently added to the policy that form a basis of the company:

  1. Yes is yes. Our clients know, that if Podegiki said “yes”, it means, that the event will be organized on the highest level. Never mind how urgent and difficult it can be.

  2. Must is a must. Our clients know that they can rely on Podegiki. Always. You have a small event to be organized for tomorrow? – Done. You want to change the concept just before the event starts? – Done. Always welcome.

  3. Budget is budget. Our clients know that Podegiki will always find an effective solution according to the budget.

  4. Comfort is comfort. Our clients know that it’s easy to cooperate with Podegiki. Our minds are attuned and one explanation is enough for us to understand what to do.

  5. Creative idea is a creative idea. Our clients are sure, that all the ideas that come from Podegiki inspire, astonish, motivate and give sense to all the tasks.

  6. Result is result. Our clients are sure, that all the events by Podegiki give result. Financial result.
