Vocabulary

2. restrict (v) – ограничивать, ставить предел: After the operation the doctor restricted her to a diet.
restricted (а) – узкий, ограниченный: It was nearly impossible to put up at this restricted hotel.
restriction (n) – ограничение: You can eat everything without restriction.
3. revenge (n) – 1) месть, отмщение: I have no desire to take revenge on smb. 2) реванш: It is fair to give him a chance to revenge.
revenge (v) – мстить, отмстить: I’d like to revenge upon him for his behaviour.
revengeful (a) – мстительный: Don’t do harm to him, he is too revengeful.
revenger (n) – мститель: This film is about a famous revenger from the Wild West.
4. reward (n) – 1) награда: I got this present in reward for my help. 2) возмездие: What do you want? That’s a fair reward for you behaviour. 3)денежное вознаграждение за поимку преступника: Read here! They promise a big reward for you.
reward (v) – награждать, вознаграждать: You efforts will definitely be rewarded.
rewarding (a) – стоящий: I like to work with him. My help is always rewarding.
5. spirit (n) – 1) моральная сила, дух: He found himself in conflict with the spirit of the time. 2) привидение: I don’t believe you. You can’t have seen the spirit of your father. 3) храбрость, воодушевление: Put a little more spirit into your work. 4) (pl) настроение: His spirits rose. to raise smb’s spirits – поднять настроение, out of spirits – в плохом настроении.
6. terror (n) – 1) страх, ужас: I felt real terror when this creature appeared. 2) лицо или вещь, внушающая страх: I don’t want to communicate with this terror. 3) тяжелый человек, беспокойный ребенок: She is a holy terror, I will send him to a boarding school.
terrify (v) – ужасать, вселять ужас: This gang terrified the whole city in 1995.
terrible (a) – страшный, ужасный, громадный: It was a terrible mistake to invite her.
7. tuck (n) - 1) складка: You have to make a tuck in a sleeve to make it fashionable. 2) еда, сладости, пирожное: You eat too much tuck. Aren’t you afraid of being too fat?
tuck (v) - 1) подсовывать, подворачивать: The sleeves are too long. You have to tuck them up. 2) укрыть, подоткнуть одеялом: My granny always tucks me in before going to bed. 3) засовывать, прятать: Where did you tuck my things?
