Letter of Invitation
The Kharkiv State Academy of Culture has the honor to invite Professor John Hofland together with 15-20 students from his class to participate in a summer workshop that will be organized by the faculty and students of the Kharkiv State Academy of Culture. The workshop is scheduled for June 2004.
The purpose of the workshop is to acquaint American theatre students with our understanding of K. Stanislavsky's and L. Kurbas's methods of directing and acting, and with the ways theatre art is taught in Ukraine. There will be theoretical lectures, practical training and demonstration lessons. In turn, American students are expected to show their art. A joint Ukrainian-American production of a play will conclude the workshop program.
The workshop will be held in a picturesque locality near Kharkiv. The event is expected to promote mutual understanding between American and Ukrainian peoples, between the cities of Spokane and Kharkiv, and contribute to students' professional development.
