Running dictation.

What did you do when you saw acorns in a store?

All of a sudden he forgot all his friends.

The snake was sneaking behind him when the hedgehog sensed danger.

The Great Changes were frightening but the animals were ready to overcome them.

Clumsy was captivated by the birds’ singing and he didn’t see squirrels bombarding him.

  1. Summary.

  1. Who was in the story?

  2. Where was he?

  3. When was it?

  4. What happened to him?

  5. What was at the end and what did he feel?

In the morning Clumsy was alone and bored. He went for a walk and heard a frightening voice. It was a large black bird. The bird was much bigger than him (had a big sharp grey beak). Its eyes were ice-cold round and blue. Its voice was captivating. It said about the Great Changes.

Clumsy sensed danger (was afraid) and ran away.

  1. Sing the song.

  1. Describe. На карточках написаны слова: a bird, the wood, the sky, Clumsy, the Great Changes.

  1. Word bank.

Teacher: There are many ways how to do something. Take your orange marker and find the words that can help us answer the question “HOW?” For example, The sun was shining. How was it shining? Lazily.

  1. Homework. Make up sentences with the orange words in your copybook. Copy out the sentences with the words “was” and “were”. Retell summary.

Busy squirrels. Lesson 4

  1. Dictation.

One little acorn wanted to grow into a big tree. But it heard frightening stories about changes that could happen to his body.

One day he was captivated by the sun that was shining and didn’t see a sneaking squirrel. All of a sudden the squirrel quickly grabbed it and the acorn sensed danger. The squirrel began bombarding a little bear, because she wanted to overcome him. After that she took the acorn to her store. The acorn was happy.

  1. Control reading. Summary. 3-4. Game p.28.

  1. New words.

  1. Listening + questions.

What do you think of a shadow that covered the place where the squirrels were?

  1. Strange things.

Teacher: There were some usual things about squirrels. What was usual?

Student: They had always played funny games, jumped and enjoyed their spare time.

Teacher: And what was unusual at that moment?

Student: The squirrels had never been so busy. They didn’t want to chat.

Student: Clumsy thinks they are greedy.

  1. Assosiations.

Teacher: Close your eyes and think about the squirrels. Everything that helps you describe them and tell about them.

(Например, in the forest/wood, jump, push, play, through, pine cones, acorns, fluffy, cute, busy, fast, hide, stores, etc) В книге на стр.

  1. Talk about squirrels. На уроке пофантазируйте с детьми на тему “why the squirrels can be disheveled”.

  • Can the squirrels be disheveled?

  • What could happen to them?

  • Where could it happen?

  • What did the squirrels feel at that moment?

  • Who is the main character?

  • What does it look like? Where do they live?

  • What do they eat? What do they do?

  • Can a squirrel be disheveled? Why?

  • Could it see anything scary or strange?

  • What did it feel at the beginning of the story?

  • Where did it happen?

  • What was the squirrel doing when the action began?

  • What happened?

  • What did the squirrel see (hear, smell, taste)?

  • What did the squirrel feel after that?

  • What was the end of the story?

Teacher: Look at p.29. Try to make your own story about this squirrel. Begin with “One day…”

  1. Homework. Make a story about the squirrel orally. Read p.8. Listen to the song p.9
