Нереальные условия в настоящем и прошлом The Unreal Present and Past
Когда речь идет о нереальных, воображаемых или невозможных ситуациях в настоящем, глагол, выражающий действие, которое противоречит действительности, употребляется в past simple. Если нереальное действие относится к прошлому, то глагол следует употреблять в past perfect.
