Indirect Speech – He asked if she would be there the next day.
Oн спросил, будет ли она там завтра (на следующий день).
Direct Speech – He thought. "Where shall I be this time next year?" (размышление).
Он подумал: "Где я буду в это время в следующем году?"
Indirect Speech – He thought where he would be this time the following year. Он подумал, где он будет в это время на будущий год.
Direct Speech – He said, "Will you help me, please?" (просьба).
Он сказал: "Помоги мне, пожалуйста."
Indirect Speech – He asked me to help him.
Он попросил меня помочь ему.
Direct Speech – He said, "Shall I bring you some tea?" ("Would you like a drink?"). (предложение).

Indirect Speech – He offered to bring me some tea (He offered me a drink).

Direct Speech – He said, "Will you have lunch with me tomorrow?" (приглашение).
Он сказал: "Позавтракаете со мной завтра?"
Indirect Speech – He invited (asked) me to have lunch with him tomorrow.
Он пригласил меня, позавтракать с ним завтра.
Direct Speech – He said, "Could (would) you wait a moment?" (просьба).
Oн сказал: "Могли бы вы подождать минутку (немного)?"
Indirect Speech – He asked (told) me to wait for him a moment.
Он попросил меня подождать его минутку (немного).
Ex. 12. Write these sentences in indirect speech, as in the examples:

2) СПЕЦИАЛЬНЫЕ КОСВЕННЫЕ ВОПРОСЫ начинаются с вопросительных слов и присоединяются при помощи их (уже в качестве союза) к главному предложению. В косвенном вопросе сохраняется прямой порядок слов и соблюдаются правила согласования времен.
Direct Speech – The teacher asked, "What are you doing?"
Учитель спросил: "Что вы делаете?"
Indirect Speech – The teacher asked (me what) I was doing.
Учитель спросил меня, что я делаю.
Direct Speech – The director asked him. "Where did you work last year?"
Директор спросил его: "Где вы работали в прошлом году?"
Indirect Speech – The director asked him where he had worked the previous year.
Директор спросил его, где он работал в прошлом году.
2.1.3. Повелительные предложения в косвенной речи
Приказание в прямой речи – Не said, "Stand up, Tom."
Он сказал: "Встань, Том."
Приказание в косвенной речи – Не told Tom to stand up.
Он приказал Тому встать.
При передаче приказаний в косвенной речи необходимо сделать следующие изменения:
1. Глагол to say заменяется глаголами, выражающими приказание или просьбу: to tell, to order, to command, to ask.
2. В косвенной речи после глаголов to tell, to order, to command, to ask следует лицо (существительное), которому адресовано приказание (просьба), а затем инфинитив.
Direct Speech – He said, "Open the window, Ann."
Он сказал: "Открой окно, Анна."
Indirect Speech – He told Ann to open the window.
Он сказал Анне (попросил Анну) открыть окно.
Direct Speech – He said to the boy, "Shut the door."
Он сказал мальчику: "Закрой дверь."
Indirect Speech – He told the boy to shut the door.
Он сказал мальчику закрыть дверь.
3. В прямой речи лицо, к которому относится приказание или просьба, часто опускается. В косвенной речи необходимо добавить существительное или местоимение, выражающее лицо, к которому адресовано приказание или просьба.
Direct Speech – She said, "Read the text."
Она сказала: "Читай текст."
Indirect Speech – She told me (him, her, us, them) to read the text.
Она сказала мне (ему, ей, нам, им) читать текст.
или
She asked me (him, her, us, them) to read the text.
Она попросила меня (его, её, нас, их) читать текст.
4. Отрицание в повелительном предложении выражается при помощи частицы not + инфинитив.
Direct Speech – The woman said to the boy. "Don't cry."
Женщина сказала мальчику: "Не плачь."
Indirect Speech – The woman told (asked ,ordered) the boy not to cry.
Женщина сказала (попросила, приказала) мальчику не плакать.
5. Для выражения просьбы или команды в косвенной речи часто употребляются глаголы to beg – просить, умолять, to urge – настаивать, to remind – напоминать, to warn – предостерегать, предупреждать, to advise – советовать, to recommend – рекомендовать, to invite – приглашать.
Direct Speech – She said, "Please, help me."
Она говорила: "Пожалуйста, помогите мне."
Indirect Speech – She begged them (us) to help her.
Она умоляла их (нас) помочь ей.
Direct Speech – Mother said to her son, "Remember to thank (your) grandma when saying good-bye.'
Мама сказала сыну: "Не забудь поблагодарить бабушку, когда будешь уходить (прощаться)."
Indirect Speech – Mother reminded her son to thank grandma when saying goodbye.
Мама напомнила сыну, чтобы он поблагодарил бабушку, когда он будет уходить (прощаться).
Direct Speech – "Don't swim too far, children", she said.
"Не заплывайте слишком далеко, дети" – сказала она.
