As this unit is concerned with facilities for conferences and other types of formal meeting. You can see words for different types of meeting below, but the definitions for them are in the wrong order. Match the words on the left with the definitions on the right.

CONFERENCE LECTURE CONGRESS CONVENTION WORKSHOP SEMINAR

A formal presentation by an expert. It is sometimes fol­lowed by questions from the audience. The general word for a formal meeting or series of meetings between people who share the same interests. It often in­volves both general lectures and discussion in smaller groups. Sometimes organized as part of a conference, this is a meeting of a smaller group in which people work on prac­tical problems and help each other to gain new knowledge. Often there are no more than 30—40 participants. A large meeting or series of meetings of experts in a particular field - often experts from different countries. More formal than a conference. A large conference of people who do a particular job or who belong to a particular political party. The word is used especially in America. A meeting of a small group (usually under 30 people) to learn from a expert; less concerned with practical or group
