-Just a minute... Let me think... I was about 8 when I started playing tennis. Since that time tennis has been my hobby.

-Oh, yes. Tennis is played all the year round-on hard courts or grass courts in summer, on hard or covered courts in winter.

-Yes, I am. I began to swim when I was a little child. But I don't like boxing. Do you?

-By no means. I am fond of collecting stamps. I have got a very good collection of stamps. Care to see it?

Art. Music.

-You are fond of art, aren't you?

-Yes, I am .1 am not very good at painting but I try to go to every art exhibition. Besides, I have read a lot about Russian painters.

-Do you collect books on painting?

-I wouldn't say so. I've several books on art, but in general I borrow books from our libraries. Are you fond of art?

-Yes, I am. Besides, I like music, or to be more exact classical music, -who is your favorite composer?

-I like Chaikovsky, Rakhmaninov, Mussorgsky.

-I appreciate your taste. Modest Mussorgsky depicted the most tragic events of Russian history in his operas. Take his opera “Boris Godunov”

-I have heard "Boris Godunov" 3 times. I must admit I enjoyed every minute of it.

-Don't you think that Mussorgsky & Andrey Tarkovsky have very much in common.

-Do you want to say that Tarkovsky's films & Mussorgsky's operas have very much in common?

-That's exactly what I mean. Their talents match. Do you agree with me?

-I have never thought about it. Tarkovsky was really a very gifted person. It is a pity that his life was very short. Have you seen his films?

-Yes, I have seen all his films. They give much food for thought.

-I believe that each of his films should be seen several times.

Books in our life

Books play a very important part in our life. There is no family without books nowadays. There are different kinds of books: fiction, science fiction, adventure stories, detective stories, fantastic tales, scientific works, and children’s books.

Every town and village in our country has a library and a book shop. Many people collect books and have their private libraries. As a rule, such people have got their private ex-libras make a sign on their books it does without, that their hobby is reading.

Books help us in up-bringing and education in self-education, in deciding problems of our life reading is food for the mind.

But many years ago the number of books in the world was very small. Only a few people had books to read and study. Most people could not read.

The invention of printing chanced a lot of history. Printing helps to develop culture, science, literature and to pass much information from one generation to another.

That’s why reading books; we must take care of them and follow some rules:

1. Wash you hands before you begin to read.

2. Do not write anything on the pages with a pen or a pencil.

3. Do not make drawings in the book.

4. Do not make dog’s eras in the book.

5. Do not tear the pages.

6. Do not lose you books or leave them in shops and buses.

My future profession is a teacher. I’ll try to teach children at a primary school to love books and reading. I’ll try to develop the children’s cognitive activity with the help of reading.

Reading books we can learn a lot about	new lands ... the world around us other countries & people the history of... the customs & traditions of different people animals, birds space nature
