Introduction

International relations have always been of great importance in functioning of any state, society and individual. Origin of nations, formation of intergovernmental boundaries, formation and change of political regimes, formation of different social institutes, development of culture, art and science, technical progress and efficient economy are closely connected with trade, financial, cultural and other exchanges, intergovernmental unions, diplomatic contacts and military conflicts, i.e. with international relations.

Presently the value of international relations increases as all the countries of the world community are involved in a dense network of various contacts. These contacts influence volumes and character of production, types of produced commodities and their price, standards of consumption, values and ideals of people.

“International relations” is the subject which provides training of students in the field of “International economy”. This subject is a component part of the educational program and together with other disciplines provides computer-integrated approach to economic preparation of bachelors in accordance with the conception of steady development.

The aim of this course is to study and master theoretical and conceptual notions of international relations and determine their role in development of the world and national economies.

The tasks of the course depend on the aim:

• to define the essence of international relations as a specific form of global relations;

• to determine principal reasons and factors, stipulating international relations;

• to study the stages, tendencies and prospects of international relations in the world economy;

• to characterize basic directions of international relations.

The object of this course is the world community which combines different isolated formations, first of all, states.

The subject is the system of different human relations, contacts between states and other isolated institutes.

The curriculum of specialty 6.050103 “International economy” includes: delivering of lectures, conduction of seminars and practical classes, individual classes with students, individual work of students. Study of lecture material, independent work with monographic, methodical, reference literature, periodicals and the Internet is necessary to master the theoretical material.

Students must acquire certain skills and experience in the field of research and methods of analysis of international relations at practical classes. This methodical guide can help students to perform some tasks on the themes of the course at practical and seminar classes.
