4. Replace the Ukrainian words by the English ones. Letter of Inquiry

A letter of inquiry is 1) схожий, подібний to a letter of application, except that is does not refer to a specific job opening. Submit a letter of inquiry when you know that you would like to work for a certain company but are 2) непоінформований, що не знає of any openings. Check the company's website or advertising to ensure that you aren't overlooking any posted job openings that would make it more 3) доречний, придатний to send a letter of application.

A letter of inquiry follows the same three-part format as a letter of application. 6. Fill in the appropriate words into the sentences: suitability; job title; opportunity; experience; job interests; skills.

Your covering letter is as important as the CV or application form it accompanies. It’s your 1) … to sell yourself to the employer and say why your CV or application is worth reading. Use it to highlight your enthusiasm and 2) … for the job and emphasise your strengths.

It should be clearly structured to cover:

  • what you’re applying for – the 3) … and where you saw the advert;
