Lukash
is one of the most prominent Ukrainian translators. He translated the
literary works from 14 languages. He translated "Faust"
Goethe, "Madame Bovari" Flaubert lyrics Schiller,
"Decameron" Boccaccio and many others.
Lukash
had a phenomenal linguistic talent and remarkable erudition in
foreign literature.
Goethe’s
«Faust» translated by M. Lukash was published in 1955. That was
turning year in Ukrainian culture and literature. (Many convicted
Ukrainian writers were discharged, a lot of articles on translation
were published in new magazine which was called «Vsesvit».)

Ten
–prominent Ukrainian translator.
The
most part of his life he deducated to translations of classical
literature –tragedies by Sofokl, Eskhil, comedies by Aristofan and
his the best translations nowadays are «Odissey» and «Illiad» by
Homer.
From
German he translated Shiller and from English- Shakespear's works.
Borys
Ten was rewarded for his translations with M.Rylsky's literature
reward.

Translates
from Latin and Old Greek. Translated Horace and Ovid.
His
debut was in 1960th in publishing centre of Lviv National University.
There was published Mendar's comedy «Vidlyudnyk».
In
the middle of 1960th he published his translations from Old Greek and
Old Roman, some articles deducated to ancient lyric poetry in
periodical magazine called «Foreign philology».
Also
Sodomora translated some works by Mendar,Aristophan,Sofokl,Eskhil
Evripid (from Old Greek). From Latin- Horace ,Ovid, Lukretsiy,
Seneka.
