2 Prepositions of place (Предлоги места)

in — в	The boy is in the house.	Мальчик в доме.
inside — внутри	It is warm inside the house.	В доме тепло.
on - на	There is a cap on his head.	У него на голове фуражка.
at — y	The postman is at the door.	Почтальон у двери.
between — между	The garden is between the house and the river.	Сад между домом и рекой.
under — под	The bicycle is under the tree.	Велосипед под деревом.
in front of — перед	There is a lawn in front of the house.	Перед домом лужайка.
behind — позади	The garden is behind the house.	Сад позади дома.
near — около	The tree is near the fence.	Дерево – около забора.
through — сквозь, через	We see it through the window	Мы видим его через окно

3 Предлоги направления и движения

to к, в	The postman came to the door.	Почтальон подошёл к двери.
across — через	He is going across the street.	Он идёт через улицу.
along —пo, вдоль	Cars run along the street.	Машины ездят по улице.
from — oт	He walked from the house to the road.	Он прошёл от дома к дороге.
into - b	He came into the house.	Он вошёл в дом.
out of - из	He went out of the house.	Он вышел из дома.

4 Предлоги, сообщающие о способе путешествия: by, on и in.

Между предлогом by и словом, определяющим способ путешествия (air, sea, car, bus и т.д.), нет ни артикля, ни притяжательного местоимения.

Предлог оn употребляется, если есть артикль или притяжательное местоимение (on the train, on my bicycle, on his horse) (исключение – on foot).

Предлог in ис­пользуется так же, как и on, но только с автомобилем, как средством пере­движения (in the taxi, in your car).
