This book begins with chapters devoted to use of tenses in English. In the beginning of each chapter the brief portion of theory is given, that’s why the theoretical and practical parts are mixed here, but practical exercises prevail. After the chapter passives there is information about conditionals, unreal time and subjunctives. Then there is topics focused on modals (present, future and past), inversion, emphasis and reported speech. Then the authors discuss articles, non-finites, the use of the verbs with prepositions, use of the prepositions itself and 3 chapters are about phrasal verbs as a huge layer of modern English. Punctuation and spelling are explained in the end of the part Grammar. After that there are two big chapters concerning vocabulary and the use of words and phrases.

An interesting point here is that the book begins with the description and discussion of passive voice. As a rule, such books firstly provide the readers with the common information about the verb and its general characteristics. In the chapters II, III and IV – «Инфинитив и инфинитивные обороты», «Причастие и причастные обороты», «Герундий и герундиальные обороты» respectively we see the paragraphs with extremely detailed information of the topic. Then there is the information about the subjunctives and modality. Emphatic constructions are singled out as a separate chapter. After that these grammarians speak about the function words (conjunctions), substitute words, pronouns and relative pronouns. In the end of the book the exercises on additional grammatical difficulties are given (конструкции с парными союзами the...the…; отнесенность двух предлогов к одному существительному) and the exercises within the last chapter «Total review» (especially passive voice, non-finites and emphasis).

Part I «Accidence» begins with the exercises on noun (morphological composition, plural form, genitive case, etc.) Then we have exercises on the use of the articles (including the special cases of the use). The adjectives (degrees, e.g.), pronouns (about the possessive and relative ones), words denoting state precede the chapter devoted to the verb (morphological composition, types of the verb). Then goes the chapter «Tenses» with a great number of exercises on the use of tenses in active voice. The passive voice is singled out as a separate topic. The Subjunctive Mood is preceded by the Modal Verbs. Then we can find the exercises devoted to the theme Verbals: Participle, Gerund, Infinitive. Then we see drills on the modal words and adverb. Interjection, conjunction, preposition and particle are found further. The part «Morphology» ends with the grammatical homonyms. The part Syntax consists of the exercises devoted to simple and composite sentences, word order, sequence of tenses and indirect speech.
