THE CITIES AND TOWNS OF CREAT BRITAIN

Except London there are other places of interest in GB. It is Manchester, the center of cotton industry with a population of nearly one million. Few English cities have better public parks of which there are over fifty. West of Manchester is Liverpool. It is one of the biggest ports on the west coast of the island.

Sheffield is a great industrial city lying on the picturesque hillsides in the valley of the Don-river.

Cardiff is the capital of Wales, noted for coalmines and copper-works. There is a delightful park, which every visitor tries to see. There is the Cathay's park. Cardiff has a number of fine public buildings. The Law Courts, City hall and University buildings in Cathay's park are worthy of any city in the world.

The University towns of Oxford and Cambridge are old and historical. You can find a great number of students there. Today Oxford has 27 colleges. You will see the charm of Oxford in green fields and parks, which surround the town, the lawns and gardens, which surround the colleges.

The north of Britain is Scotland, a unique country for its landscapes. Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland. Glasgow is a very large city in Scotland. It is also a large seaport and a big shipbuilding center.
