Text b. Garments and their Parts
There are many kinds of garments. The main of them are a coat, a jacket, trousers, a skirt, a shirt and a blouse. All of them have very much in common because the pattern they consist of include basic, constructive-decorative and auxiliary parts. The shirt has such basic parts: a) front, b) back, c) yoke, d) sleeve, e) upper collar, f) under collar. There are many constructive-decorative parts in the shirt. They are g) upper cuff, h) under cuff, i) patch pocket, j) upper flap, k) under flap, l) facing.
There are no lining parts in the shirt, but there are some interlinings, such as e") collar interlining, g") cuff interlining, j") flap interlining, l") facing interlining. There are also some special lines and areas in the shirt: an armhole, a neckline, a shoulder line, a sideseam line, a sleeve cap.
The jacket has many basic parts. They are: a) front, b) back, c) upper sleeve, d) under sleeve, e) lapel, f) upper collar, g) under collar. But it may have only two constructive-decorative parts such as h) flap and i) welt. There are many lining parts in the jacket: a') front lining, b') back lining, c') upper sleeve lining, d') under sleeve lining, h') flap lining.
