Introduction
Where are Nike shoes made? How do you get them? What about the clothes you are wearing? You are going to discover where they and many other products are made by becoming an International Trade Fair representative.
The Task
Your group will create a regional trade booth selected from the regions listed above. To do this you will:
Group
Identify the countries within your region including a description of the cultural background
Create a list of products Canada exports and imports from the region
Describe any trade pacts Canada has with the region
Display the historical relationship Canada has with the region
Individual
Provide an in depth portfolio of one of the major countries in your region (each member of your group selects a different country)
Describe trade pacts that are unique to your country and Canada
Class
Organize an International Trade Fair within the school
The Process
The following is a list of things that you would be required to complete to set up your Trade Fair booth:
Individual
Design a poster advertising your country
Create a flow chart of imports and exports to and from Canada to your country
Create a brochure outlining your country's relationship with Canada, it's cultural background and it's history
Group
All of the above tasks concerning the region as a whole
Class
Create advertisements for the International Trade Fair
Organize the layout for the Trade Fair
Run the Trade Fair
Resources
The following is a list of resources that you can use to obtain information on your region/country. This is only a guide. Other resources may be used.

When completing your assignment you should be able to answer the following questions:
What are the major products traded with your country/region?
How long has Canada been a trading partner with your country/region?
Are there any trade agreements with your country/region and Canada? What are the major aspects of the agreement?
Describe the cultural and historical background of the country you are using.
Locate where your country/region is located on a world map.
Conclusions
By the end of this project you will have compared the major exporting and importing countries that Canada is involved with, the cultural backgrounds of these countries as well as the historical relationships we have. You will have mapped out trade routes and the different transportation methods. As a class, you will demonstrate and apply the knowledge learned during the Trade Fair by educating the rest of the school, teachers and parents when they visit your booth.
