Unit 9. Future Continuous

Exercise 1. Make sentences interrogative.

Example: At 4.30 tomorrow the barrister will be preparing his speech for the court. (When/Who) – When will the barrister be preparing his speech for the court? Who will be preparing his speech for the court at 4.30 tomorrow?

Exercise 2. Open the brackets and put the verb into the correct form.

Example: Don’t phone me tomorrow at three. We … our case with a barrister (to discuss). – We will be discussing our case with a barrister.

Exercise 3. Complete the sentences using one of these verbs and putting them in the correct tense.

Exercise 4. Correct the mistakes where necessary.

Exercise 5. Open the brackets. Use Future Simple or Future Continuous.

Example: He … the latest news at 7 p.m. (to watch). – He will be watching the latest news at 7 p.m.

Exercise 6. Translate the sentences from Russian into English. Pay attention to the use of Future Continuous.

1. Завтра в 12 часов они будут слушать иск о разводе. 2. Прокурор кратко изложит доказательства во время следующего заседания суда. 3.
