Unit 18. Future Simple, Future Continuous, Future Perfect, Future Perfect Continuous

Exercise 1. Define the tense and make sentences interrogative.

Example: I promise I’ll phone our solicitor to make arrangements about the inheritance. (Why/Whom) – Future simple. Why will you phone the solicitor? Whom will you phone?

Exercise 2. Open the brackets and put the verb into the correct form.

Example: We are late. It’s 9.00 already. The lecture begins at 9.40. By the time we get to the University the lecture … already (to start). – By the time we get to the University the lecture will already have started.

Exercise 3. Complete the sentences using one of these verbs and putting them in the necessary Future tense.

Exercise 4. Correct the mistakes where necessary.

Exercise 5. Translate the following sentences from Russian into English.

1. На будущий год будет 10 лет, как она работает в прокуратуре. 2. Я уверен, что нотариус подпишет все документы. 3. Не опаздывайте. Я буду ждать вас в зале суда в девять. 4.
