Предисловие
Пособие состоит из восьми уроков. Каждый урок пособия содержит:
1.основной текст для перевода с английского языка на русский язык;
2.словарь к тексту, содержащий слова, которые могут представить трудности при чтении и переводе;
3.упражнения на решение грамматических и лексических задач.
Все упражнения направлены на усвоение общенаучной и специальной лексики, а также грамматики необходимой как для чтения научной литературы, так и для устного общения. Грамматические и лексические упражнения каждого урока предполагают постоянное повторение материала предыдущих уроков. В целом упражнения создают условия для развития навыков и умений чтения и устной речи. Упражнения разнотипны, но набор типов и их последовательность во всех уроках практически одинаковы, что облегчает понимание задач в упражнениях.
Основные тексты каждого из восьми уроков посвящены таким вопросам как «фотосинтез», «биологические различия между растениями и животными», «типы растений», «почва», «строение растения» и т.п. Исходным моментом при отборе текстов была актуальность данных тем по спецпредметам специальностей факультета естественных наук и природных ресурсов. Тексты составлены в научно - художественном стиле. Помимо основной темы, они обрамлены неким художественным содержанием, которое представляет собой небольшую сюжетную зарисовку из жизни студентов университета. Такой подход при составлении текстов обеспечил возможность введения в текст необходимых грамматических структур, а также придал занимательность излагаемым темам.
Рекомендуемая последовательность работы над каждым уроком:
Каждый урок пособия начинается с повторения предыдущей темы (за исключением первого урока). Учащиеся прорабатывают упражнения на повторение. Далее происходит изучение нового грамматического материала, и выполняются тренировочные упражнения. Переход к работе над текстом, снабжённым тем же грамматическим материалом, осуществляется при помощи лексических упражнений, предваряющих данный текст.
Далее учащиеся самостоятельно прорабатывают основной текст, который предполагает изучающее чтение (детальное, точное понимание читаемого). Затем проводится традиционная аудиторная работа над текстом с аналитическим чтением, контролем понимания и переводом.
После этого студенты переходят к выполнению речевых упражнений на базе текста, словаря и грамматического материала данного и предыдущих уроков. Все упражнения пособия можно условно разбить на несколько групп:

лексико-грамматические упражнения, построенные на материале данного урока;

упражнения на закрепление активной лексики;

упражнения по тексту;
-
упражнения на перевод с русского языка на английский язык.
Уроки рекомендуется изучать в том порядке, в каком они представлены в пособии. Последовательность выполнения упражнений также должна быть сохранена.
