Objectives:

• to acquaint students with stylistic aspects of English phraseological units;

• to inform them on main peculiarities of proverbs and sayings of phraseological units;

• to acquaint students with synonymous phraseological units.

• to analyse different view points as to the styles of language;

• to foster students' competence in facing academic controversies concerning the problems of stylistic differentiation of English vocabulary.
