Participle I (passive).

Participle I (passive) – причастие страдательного залога, выражающее действие, одновременное с действием глагола – сказуемого, образуется по формуле: being + 3 основная форма глагола.

Например, to build – being built

to translate – being translated

to give – being given

Participle I (passive) может выполнять в предложении функции определения и обстоятельства.

Participle I (passive) в функции определения переводится страдательным причастие, оканчивающимся на –мый, или действительным причастием со страдательным значением, оканчивающимся на – щийся.

Примеры:

The experiment being conducted in our laboratory is of great importance.

Эксперимент, проводимый в нашей лаборатории, очень важен.

The large building being built in our street is a new institute of chemical technology.

Большое здание, строящееся на нашей улице, - новый институт химической технологии.

Participle I (passive) в функции обстоятельства переводится придаточным предложением или причастным оборотом со словом будучи.

Например, 1. Being built of coloured stone, the house will look fine.

Так как дом строится из цветного камня, он будет выглядеть очень красиво.

2. Being asked he told us everything about his work.

Когда его спросили, он рассказал нам всё о своей работе.
