Read the text: Imaging Systems

The processing power required to enable real-time image processing is significant. Processors must have the capability to perform real-time compression / decompression, target-image recognition, digital map overlays and rotations, array processing and radar image preprocessing. For high performance imaging designs, Texas Instruments offers the SMJ320C6201B Fixed-Point Digital Signal Processor (DSP). This device is the highest performance military programmable DSP achieving 1200 MIPS (Million Fixed-Point Instructions Per Second) at 150 MHz operation over an extended temperature range of -55 to +115°C (W-temp). TI offers this DSP packaged in a 27 x 27 mm Ceramic Dimpled Ball Grid (CBGA).

The single chip SMJ320C80 Multimedia Video Processor (MVP) actually contains four Advanced-DSPs and a RISC processor.
