Settled Drell

Water had played a dominant role in settled drell lives. The number of large rivers had been very low. Their ability to overflow was considered to be mystical. During the floods, all the river valleys had been covered by water and looked like a sea. Towns had been located on the hills and that is why, during these periods have looked like islands. The silt, left after water receding, had been turning the arid deserts into the fertile fields.  A military leader, later called “kafo”, had been set as the highest authority in town like this. That was possible because of the great amount of water resources, that he had, and this was implemented with the great support of army and main priest. First kafos were elected by authoritative warriors of the settles tribe, and later they have founded “Houses”. They have made a bases for the highest estate. House representatives could become new kafos later, but later the authority was transmitted from the father to a son, and so on. Drell government became a centralized monarchy, and was divided into classes – highest, middle (merchants and craftsmen – he most little class) and lowest. The kafo authority was known as absolute power. The central public services were departments called – enthe:  1) ante-aph – military services. Clerks, that create lists of citizen soldiers and mercenaries, were working in this department. They also measured the salary and land for military service. 2) ante-aal – financial services, controlling of tax and other arrivals into the state treasury.  3) ante-baa – responsible for building of roads, wells, etc. and post offices. It was the only organization, able to provide the fast information transfer.  The highest authorities of enthe have been set by kafo and were reporting him directly. The first place was after the counselor – berath.  More than all other gods “settled” honored Kalahira – Goddess of Oceans and Afterlife.  Drell believed that they may found a heaven across the sea. According to the ancient legends, the ones soul, separated from the body, need to pass the sea in order to break itself from the mortal body. And then, after getting a new form, go out of the sea to the Kalahira’s heaven. Seas and oceans ¬– are not somethings usual for drell, that is why they saw them as some kind of portals between physical and spiritual worlds. Drell’s attitude to death was very serious. It seemed to be a release from the mortal body, and thought, that together (body and soul) create a Unity. In their religion, by such separation of these two things, that were preparing themselves to the changes, that are waiting for them before the afterlife. If the soul can’t get out of the mortal body habit, t will be lost in the sea for the eternity. It is reputed, that such division of body nad soul have appeared because of the drell lifestyle. They had to fight for the survival all the time. Often murders could have a very bad influence the rational being psyche. That is when the philosophy of the body being a tool has appeared.
