5.7 Afis requirements for communications
Air-ground communication
5.7.1.1 Air-ground
communication facilities shall enable direct, rapid, continuous and
static-free two-way communications to take place between an AFIS unit
and appropriately equipped aircraft operating at any distance within
45 km (25 NM) of the aerodrome concerned and within the associated
TIZ/TIA.
Aeronautical fixed service (ground-ground communications)
5.7.2.1 An AFIS unit, in
addition to being connected to the flight information centre, the
area control centre (ACC) and the approach control unit as
applicable, shall have facilities for communications with the
associated air traffic services reporting office, when separately
established.
