Through out the centuries books had an enormous influence on the minds and hearts of people. Books bind together ages, personalities. The book is the surest way to bring nations together. It helps people achieve understanding, trust, cooperation and friendship. Thanks to books we learn to express our thoughts and feelings more exactly. We can talk to people who lived in different countries and ages. Through reading books we hear their voices, thoughts and feelings. Some people developed much time to reading books and reading becomes their free time occupation, their passion. They teach the readers to be truthful, friendly, honest decisive, conscientious, frank, firm, fair and serious. The book is faithful and understanding friend. It can be put aside and taken up again at any moment. We can distinguish books between three classes of them. Firstly, books on different branches of knowledge, works by brilliant minds of mankind. Secondly, textbooks, reference books and numerous dictionaries. And at last, books of all kinds and genres to read at leisure. Classics should be taken a little at a time. One's understanding of books by Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky, Mopassan, Balzak and a great Kazakh writer M.Auezov depends on one's age and experience. Mukhtar Auezov a world renowned writer, unique literary critic, eminent historian and serious Turkic linguist, was the person of many-sided and large-scaled talent. Auezov’s work “The path of Abai” gave birth to Kazakh literature. He started his career of a writer with dramas written at the age of 20 and finished it with great novel “The path of Abai” and this novel is unique for the Kazakh literature. Probably, Auezov was the only who could comprise the whole Orient in his writing with all traditions, customs, steppe colors, love of life and nation. As an old saying goes, man cannot live on bread alone. Books are the source of knowledge and the means of self — perfection. Sometimes it is difficult to solve some problems in life. I think that books can help us. Books must be our friends during all our life.

How would you describe the style? Reading. “I’m just crazy about rock climbing” pp 32-33 You may be wondering how anyone can be crazy about something dangerous about rock climbing? To be honest, I’m not sure why I’m so keen on it. It isn’t because I’m good at it-I’m only a beginner. I’ve come up with some reasons that non climbers might understand. There are practical reasons. For example, climbing keeps you fit, and you meet lots of new people with the same interest as you. In addition to this , there are reason that only experienced climbers would give. The main one is that climbing is scary- it gives you fantastic thrill. I’ll never forget my first climb-it was terrifying. Once you’ve got over fear, you feel great because you’ve achieved something.

Students’ individual work Text to read. Books are the source of knowledge
Nowadays it's almost impossible to imagine our life without books. Perhaps, there are more books on our planet than men alive. Long before the invention of printing people valued books as treasure troves of the human knowledge and experience. Hand — written manuscripts took months of writing and were collected by and kept in monasteries with utmost care. One's understanding of books by Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky, Mopassan and Balzak depends on one's age and experience. Serious books are to be read conscientiously and maybe more than once. To a thinking reader they will provide new food for thought every time he rereads it. Many people indulge in reading science fiction, fantasy or detective stories. Of course, there are some advantages and disadvantages of this kind of literature, often referred to as "easy reading". As for me, good science fiction and fantasy develop imagination, logical thinking, broader one's outlook. The same could be said in favour of detective stories. They reveal such minute details of everyday life in this or that particular country that are of greatest interest for a curious reader. The masterpieces of this genre by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Agatha Christie and others, show the depths of psychological analysis, the insight into the human nature. As an old saying goes, man cannot live on bread alone. Books are the source of knowledge and the means of self — perfection. Sometimes it is difficult to solve some problems in life. I think that books can help us. Books must be our friends during all our life.
