The topics are: sport, work, fashion, clothes, football, films, health, cars, politics, the opposite sex, jokes, relationship problems, family, education, and their house.

Before listening try to give definitions or translations to the following words and word combinations.
Body polish, incredibly uncomfortable, to feel stupid, divine, favorite spa treatment, a smooth face, definitely worth the time and money, foot treatment.
Answer the following questions and discuss them with your partner.
1. What procedure did the body polish include?
2. What was Stephen’s opinion about body polish? Why?
3. What was Joanna’s favourite spa treatment?
4. Why didn’t Stephen like the facial treatment?
5. How did Joanna feel after the facial treatment?
6. Which of the three treatments did Stephen appreciate?
7. Which of the treatments would you choose to have?
8. Speak about the procedures of the spa you have visited.
Use a/ an with singular countable nouns -the first time you mention a thing /person. I saw an old man with a dog. -when you say what something is. It`s a nice house. -when you say what somebaby does it. She`s a lawyer. -in exclamation with What…? What an awful day! -in expressions like… three times a week |
Use the -when we talk about something I saw an old man with a dog, and we`ve already mentioned. the dog was barking. -when there`s only one of something. The moon goes round the sun. -when it`s clear what you`re referring to. He opened the door. -with places in a town, e.g. cinema and theatre. I`m going to the cinema. -with superlatives. It`s the best restaurant in town. |
