Translate in writing

  1. He almost wished he could have earache, too.

  2. I heard Daddy say if Robertson Ay does what his doctor told him to he’ll sack him.

  3. Then she went on dreamily, still gazing into the middle of the room, but without seeing anything.

  4. When her child had gone to sleep at night she would go into a corner of the field and chew the cud and think her own quiet thoughts.

  6. In between these dances she would curtsey and make sweeping bows and knock her head against the dandelions.

  7. It was then that he noticed the Red Cow approaching.

  8. She herself shot upwards through the sky, with the stars spinning around her like great golden plates, and presently, in blinding light, she felt the cold rays of the moon upon her.

  9. She had grown so used to dancing and to the happy feeling the star had given her that she wanted to do a Sailor’s Hornpipe and to have the star her horn again.

Read chapter V “The Dancing Cow” Prepare good reading and translate the passage beginning with “She led a very busy life…”, on p. 43 and ending with “…against the dandelions”.

Reading-Comrehension Tasks

I. Recall and retell:

  1. what extraordinary thing Michael saw in the Lane;

  2. what peculiar thing happened to the Red Cow one day;

  3. what it felt like;
