1. She sells shells on the seashore,

The shells she sells are seashells I’m sure,

For if she sells seashells on the seashore,

Then I’m sure she sells seashore shells.

2. A big black bug bit a big black bear,

A big black bear bit a big black bug.

3. Never trouble trouble

Till trouble troubles you.

It only doubles trouble,

And troubles others too.

4. Betty Botta bought some butter,

“But”, she said, “this butter’s bitter,

But a bit of better butter

Will make my batter better.”

So she bought a bit of butter

Better than the bitter butter

And it made her batter better.

So it was better Betty Botta

Bought a bit of better butter.

5. I need not your needles

They’re needless to me

For kneading of needles

Were needless, you see;

But did my neat trousers

But need to be kneed,

I then should have need

Of your needles indeed.

6. Moses supposes his toeses (toes) are roses,

But Moses supposes erroneously;

For nobody’s toeses are posies of roses

As Moses supposes his toeses to be.

7. Whether the weather be fine

Or whether the weather be not,

Whether the weather be cold

Or whether the weather be hot,

We’ll weather the weather

Whatever the weather

Whether we like it or not.
