Why do people collect things?

Some people have dynamic way of living, so when they have holidays they want to potter around the house, read, do gardening or spend time on their hobby! As many people as many hobbies, but everyone knows that the most popular hobby is collecting things.

People begin to collect because of many reasons, for example they are interested in smth or they travel a lot and make their collection of souvenirs from different countries.

I want to tell you some words about the 2 collectors : Andrea Levitt and Jeff Parker.

Andrea Levitt has been collecting dolls about 25 years. She started her hobby because she things dolls are another art form. She opened her own business : Dolls-at-Home and now there are about 3 hundred items in her collection. Dolls are in every room of her house even in the kitchen and the bathroom. Andrea finds them by travelling and using her website.

Jeff Parker has been collecting Star Wars action figures since he was 4 years old. It was the first movie he ever saw and he loved it, the idea, the story…now he is collecting everything: posters, videos, space ships, space stations and so on…he probably has seven hundred pieces in all. He got so many items because his family love the film too and they give him a present on every holiday, so the collection grew and grew.

To come to a conclusion, we spend our time as we like. Everyone try to have a rest, to relax, to spend time interesting and the way we get so isn’t important whatever it is : travelling, doing hobby, lying on the sofa or smth other.
