What is your future speciality?
I am a student of Kyiv National Economic University. My future speciality is Bank management. I am very keen to start a career job in banking. I have been interested in banking since I was at school.
I believe that a necessary and the most logical way to contribute to the development of the banking system of Ukraine is to acquire educational qualification levels of Bachelor and Master of Science in Economics.
Banks is an institution, which handles other people’s money both to their advantage and to its own profit. Bank managers have overall responsibility for the efficient operation and profitability of their branches or departments.
A banker is a person conducting a banking business.
It takes a lot of employees to run the bank. The clerical jobs are graded according to the demands and responsibilities of each particular position.
Anyway, I am sure in order to have a good position I must be very hard working and I will become a successful and prosperous banker.

How long does the course of study last in your university?
My university, Kyiv National Economic University, offers a wide choice of programmes and courses for the students: Bachelor’s programmes in economics and management, Master’s programmes. They are aimed to develop individual and professional abilities of the students and represent different level of academic achievement.
Bachelor’s degree programmes in economics and management are profession-oriented and require four years of study. The first two years are aimed at providing general education and preparing for more special studies. The last two and years are devoted almost entirely to the majors.
The academic year is usually nine months duration and is divided into two terms. The students have an examination session at the end of each term. The Bachelor’s degree is usually known as the first degree and may be a terminal qualification.
The Master’s degree programmes require one year of study beyond baccalaureate. The Master’s degree candidate follows a rather specific course of study, usually in a single field.

What subjects do you consider to be the most important for you to gain your professional skills?
An economist is a professional in the social science discipline of economics. I think future economists, if they want to be real professionals, need to know how to use advanced methods in statistical analysis, mathematics, computer programming. They studying program should include such disciplines as accounting, insurance, tax, banking, management, macroeconomic analysis, microeconomic analysis or financial statement analysis, statistics or some types of applied mathematics, such as mathematical finance or game theory. These subjects help to become a high quality economist. Apart from the specific understanding of the subject, employers value the skills of numeracy and analysis, the ability to communicate and the capacity to grasp broad issues.
