John is at the cardiologist’s. Report what they tell each other.

1. Doctor: You should change your life style. Your family history is full of heart diseases with fatal outcomes.

2. John: I can’t but smoke.

3. D.: You must give up immediately. You are at risk to develop cardiac arrest.

4. J.: Ok. I will try. Though, I’m not sure it will work.

5. D.: It will, believe me. You must also keep a low-cholesterol diet to reduce the risk of atherosclerotic plagues blocking your arteries.

6. J.: I love meat!!! I can’t live without it.

7. D.: But you may consume lean (пісний) meat - turkey, beef… You may also take sea fish which is rich in polyunsaturated fats.

8. J.: I’ve never attended gym!!!

9. D.: You have to start with walking and easy cardio-training. Later we’ll increase physical activity.

10. J.: I heard about modern surgical corrections of coronary arteries.

11. D.: You first should lose the body weight and decrease blood pressure not to have problems with anesthesia.

12. J.: Good, I’ll try to follow all your recommendations.

13. D.: That’s the only chance for you. You have to be consulted by endocrinologist as well. I’ll refer you to my colleague.
