directions in biotechnology, reecting the forefront of research clearly and reliably,
without excessive hype. Each volume is written by authors with excellent reputations
and acknowledged expertise in the topic under discussion. The volumes span the
entire eld from an interdisciplinary perspective, covering everything from
biotechnology principles and methods to applications in areas including genetic
engineering, transgenic plants and animals, environmental problems, genomics,
proteomics, diagnosis of disease, gene therapy, and biomedicine. The signicance
of these applications for the achievement of UN Sustainable Development Goals is
highlighted. The series will be highly relevant for Master’s and PhD students in
Biotechnology, Nanochemistry, Biochemical Engineering, and Microbiology,
medical students, academic and industrial researchers, agricultural scientists,
farmers, clinicians, industry personnel, and entrepreneurs.

The book Concepts in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and Drug Development provides comprehensive coverage of the development of new pharmaceuticals and the
enhancement of existing ones. There is a growing recognition among companies in
various industrial sectors about the signicance of sustainable development and the
promising opportunities presented by biotechnology. The implementation of biotechnology has the potential to enhance the eco-friendliness of industrial processes
and reduce both nancial and operating expenses. Additionally, it has the potential
to decrease the usage of raw materials and energy while also minimizing waste. The
primary objective is to offer a comprehensive understanding of pharmaceutical biotechnology, including its underlying principles and practical applications from an
industrial standpoint. The book provides a thorough overview of the ways in which
biotechnology inuences drug development, production, and regulation, and is a
valuable resource for those seeking to enhance their understanding in this area. This
book is designed to support educators in their teaching efforts and offers a readerfriendly exploration of the various stages involved in the development of new pharmaceuticals through biotechnology. This book is a valuable resource for individuals
at various stages of their academic and professional careers, including undergraduates, graduates, pharmaceutical scientists, clinicians, and academic researchers. It
provides convenient access to current practices in pharmaceutical biotechnology,
making it particularly useful for those working in the interdisciplinary eld of biochemistry, pharmacology, biopharmaceutics, and biotechnology. This book's concise and impartial content structure may also prove advantageous to corporate
researchers.
