INTRODUCTION
Данное учебное пособие предназначено для студентов, обучающихся по
укрупненной группе специальностей среднего профессионального образования
38.00.00 «Экономика и управление», изучающих дисциплину «Иностранный язык (английский)».
В настоящем учебном пособии все задания органично связаны между
собой. При этом соблюдается принцип повторяемости лексики от задания к заданию, что, с одной стороны, является одним из основных условий запоминания слов, словосочетаний и специальных терминов, а с другой — выступает в роли главной предпосылки их использования в устной и письменной речи, а также их аудиального и образного (визуального) распознавания.
Большинство заданий по своему характеру призваны развивать
у студентов аналитические и ассоциативные способности, формировать навыки системного подхода в изучении английского языка.

Business Idioms 1
Grammar Note
There are a lot of commonly used idiomatic prepositional phrases like this in English. It is important to try and learn them as whole expressions, rather than just a noun, for example. One way recording such expressions is to list them under the preposition.
Exercise 1
Complete the prepositional phrases below by adding one of the following prepositions from the list.
wide of under across in to out on

Grammar Note
Countable and uncountable nouns
Some nouns which are plural in other languages are not used in the plural in English; the most useful in business English are advice, information, knowledge.
Notice many nouns have both countable and uncountable uses, depending on exactly what the speaker has in mind; often the plural is used for particular examples and the uncountable for the idea in general:
Too much regulations from Brussels are bad for business.
Too much regulation from Brussels is bad for business.
