Prepare a short presentation on one of these topics:

• The most important qualities of a top specialist in IT industry are (being on time, having ambition, getting on with people or being friendly, knowing about computers, having a sense of humour, looking smart, working at weekends, traveling frequently, speaking foreign languages or having linguistic ability, being a natural leader, having organizational and interpersonal skills);

• My speciality;

• My hero (an example to follow) in IT industry;

Answer the following questions.

1. What activities are you good at? What are your achievements?

2. Do you think it’s important to be a well-educated person? Give your reasons.

3. What quality is the most important in the make-up of a good specialist? What other qualities are essential?

4. What five adjectives would you use that best describe you?

5. What is the biggest problem you have faced recently and how you resolved it?

6. What kind of people do you find difficult to work with?

7. Imagine that you are allowed to have some of the gifts for your birthday. Choose three gifts which you think are the most important or useful and three which are the least important or useful (good health, a nice house, a brilliant mind, money, a good job, friends, the latest fashion clothes, travelling, books, the Internet, attractive appearance )?

8. What should every graduate keep in mind?

Too often, people - especially teens and young adults do not know how to interact with others.

You will read & translate the texts about Russia (its political system) and Russia’s ancient capital. Before you read, discuss in pairs the following.

1. Do you know anything about the USSR? 2. What is the national currency of Russia? 3. What is featured on the front of the today’s 1000 ruble banknote? 4. Who is the current head of the Russian Federation? 5. What is the official language of the Russian Federation? 6. Can Russia be proud of its cultural achievements? Give your reasons.
