MODERN INFORMATION IN RAILWAY TRANSPORT
Abstract: Effective management of the process of railway transportation can be realized only on the basis of comprehensive, reliable and prepared for analytical processing of information.
Key words: Information technology, information systems (IS), information, processes, management.
Information technology today is not just a means of supporting management, but the main element of the railway transport infrastructure.
The relevance of the topic is justified by the fact that in our time the possession of information is a prerequisite for the optimal organization of the transportation process, identifying and reducing non-production costs, pursuing an effective policy in the field of tariff regulation.
The purpose of the work is to highlight modern information technologies that are used in railway transport.
To achieve the goal, the following tasks were set:
Primary collection of information on the project topic
Analyzing the collected information to consider the types of information technologies
Research method: -text analysis
Information systems and implementation of information processes
Information technology is a system of techniques, methods and methods of collecting, storing, processing, transmitting, presenting and using data
Information systems - a set of information technology tools and people, united to achieve certain goals or for management.
Information systems carry out the implementation of processes related to:
1) with the collection, storage and classification of large amounts of information;
2) with logical data processing when solving informational problems;
3) with the issuance of information suitable for direct human use.
Functioning of information systems
The functioning of the IS can be represented as a set of information processes performed sequentially or in parallel:
1) collection and preparation of initial information for subsequent input into the system;
2) input of initial information and formation of reference arrays;
3) solving problems based on the data obtained in accordance with a given algorithm;
4) maintaining arrays that make up the information base of the IS (replenishment, renewal, reorganization);
5) implementation of information exchange between IS and users in the course of the system functioning.
The execution of all these processes usually takes place under a single management.
3. Information systems in railway transport
The high complexity of information processes is typical for railway transport. The irregularity of processes, the occurrence of interruptions and malfunctions lead to the need to manage them.
The need for and the possibility of using decision-making IS in railway transport is obvious. This is due to the following reasons:
1) the work of transport covers a large number of stationary (stations, locomotive depots, railway lines) and dynamic (cars, locomotives) objects. Each of them is a constant source of information that you need to work with.
2) in transport, at different times, there is a need to solve various kinds of combinatorial problems, for example, developing a train schedule or promptly adjusting a train formation plan;
Conclusion: we learned about the purpose of information systems and examined their application. We learned about the need to use information systems in the work of railway transport.
