Z. Ye. Fomina: Inroductory Remarks of Editor-in chief of the Scientific Journal «Modern Linguistic and Methodical-and-Didactic Researches»

Issue 3 (18) of the Scientific Journal contains the following sections: "Linguistics", "Methods and Didactics of Teaching Foreign Languages", "Intercultural Communication", "Theory and Practice of Translation". The eighteenth Series presents 12 articles.

THE LINGUISTIC SECTION reflects theoretically and practically significant research results of the scientists in the field of typological researches, pragmatics, phonetics, business discourse, correlation of the English language and New Zealand English, cognitive linguistics, fiction world discourse, and others. This section includes 4 articles on the scientific fields mentioned above. The subject matter of the work of the Ger-

man Professor Frank Kostrzewa (Germany, Karlsruhe Pedagogical Institute) is the problem of revealing grammatical features of Japanese as an agglutinating language. The author points out that from the point of its grammatical structure Japanese bears close resemblance to Korean. In the opinion of F. Kostrzewa, the embedding of relative clauses in Japanese is marked by its position in front of the relating noun. The nucleus of a sentence is as a general rule not represented in the relative clause. Such a representation only occurs if the nucleus appears as a genitive attribute or as a complement of the postpositional syntagm.

Professor E.N. Malyuga (Moscow, RUDN) addresses the problem of the study of the pragmatic function of intonation in the context of business discourse. The author comes to the conclusion that the pragmatic function of intonation as a component of business discourse is to transform words into communicative units (statements) that can convey the communicative intention of the speaker. That is why, as Elena Malyuga points out, the interrelation of intonational and pragmatic peculiarities of speech production can be viewed as a topical research issue, and in the framework of business discourse analysis specifically.

The article of Senior Lecturer S.N. Orlova (Moscow, RUDN) represents the issue of the New Zealand English self-identification. As the results of the research show, “at present, New Zealanders are guided by the British pronunciation standard, which they associate with their best pronunciation, privilege, high prestige and education". Cultural, socio-economic and political reforms contributed, in the author's opinion, to the growth of national self-awareness. "With the dominion status, New Zealand allowed the New Zealand national variant to function independently, demonstrating the acquired national and cultural characteristics at all language levels." This is the specificity of the formation of the national literary norm, supported and realized by native speakers.”

The article of applicant L.N. Kriatchko (Voronezh, VGTU) is concept “modern city” as digital communication centre in the English fiction world picture. Liliya N. Kriatchko comes to the conclusion that modern city in the English fiction world picture is represented as digital communication centre. Along with the national English lexical units thesaurus the 21st century language personality’s also comprises some technical terminology. In the author`s opinion, considering a large-scale nature of such global processes as the globalization and computerization, nominations of digital communication devices can be referred to as the language universals.

The results of the topical methods-and-didactic researches are represented in the similarly name section “METHODS AND DIDACTICS” (4 articles). Prof. Z.Ye. Fomina (Voronezh, VGTU) analyses dominant realias of modern educational process and new technologies in the context of the digital conditions of the 21st century. Summarizing the research results, Fomina Z.Ye. points out that that for the educational process of the 21st century the following issues are relevant: the problem of education openness, creation and development of new forms of education in the conditions of digital society, an active application of digital technologies. A special role is given to foreign languages. Modern education of the 21st century is determined by

6

Scientific Journal “Modern Linguistic and Methodical-and-Didactic Researches” Issue № 3 (18), 2017 ISSN 2587-8093

the concepts with the base component "digital": digital pedagogy, digital rhetoric, digital citizens, digital training, digital health, etc. In the author`s opinion, the effective organization of the modern educational process in the conditions of digital society should take into account the challenges of the global world, the specific character of the addressee of training - the young digital generation of people of the 21st century, as well as the scientific-and-technological breakthrough in the sphere of computer technologies. It is necessary to actively introduce digital methods of education into the field of education in order to keep pace with the times.

The article of Post-graduate student J.V. Petrova in collaboration with Professor G.V. Sorokovykh (Moscow, Moscow City University) deals with the analysis of interactive methods of teaching strategies of argumentation for students of bachelor degree in foreign language. The authors conclude that interactive technologies are a meaningful technique for realizing the teaching of argumentative communication of students-journalists and represents personalization of didactic interaction, realizing the possibility of choosing methods, forms and methods of personal development, and also supports the various educational interests of students with a certain level of language skills. In the authors` opinion interactive activities provide not only an increase in knowledge, skills, methods of communication, but also the disclosure of new opportunities for students.

The subject matter of the article of Cand. of Pedagogical Sciences A.A. Korenev (Moscow, Moscow State University) is language teacher’s professional-communicative competence within the scope of listening skills. As the author points out, classroom listening is a complex professional-communicative communication type, which includes various communicative task, contexts and strategies. The situations and macro-skills presented in this article can be used for further analysis and specification of professional-communicative teacher’s listening microskills and for development of specialized teaching and learning materials.

Colleagues from the Ural Federal University Associate Professor A.G. Kovaleva, Associate Professor E.E. Dymova and Senior Lecturer D.I. Kurmanova (Ekaterinburg) consider student's competence model for research activities in a foreign language at the university. The authors come to the conclusion that formation and development of the foreign language communicative research competence increase motivation of students to study a foreign language, form interdisciplinary links. The development of every component of the foreign language communicative research competence provides effective progress in the career of a graduate.

The section "INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION" presents 2 articles: of linguisttranslator E. Singletterry (USA, New York) and Associate Professor L.A. Artemova. Author Elena Singletterry studies the characteristics of modern French culture, as well as the iconic language realities of Paris on the example of the book tradition "Shakespeare and Company". In E. Singletterry`s opinion, the analysis of the independent bookshop tradition in France with an obligatory inclusion of the French café tradition, reveals its ontological connection to an array of typically French (Parisian) phenomena that characterize the French mentality, values, and lifestyle. Among these phenomena are French hedonism, role of cafés and coffee drinking; the cult of joy of life, people watching, the cult of moment, café as a third place, the French quality

(savoire-faire) and others. As the author concludes, a great impact in the creation and development of the independent bookstore Shakespeare and Company was put by American creators Sylvia Beach, George Whitman and Sylvia Whitman.

Problematics of the article of Associate Professor L.A. Artemova is devoted to the pragmatic potential of transforming introductory models in media texts. The author concludes that there is a certain correlation between the genre of the text and the anthroponymic model. Depending on the genre of the media text certain anthroponymic models are used: 1) complete anthroponym; 2) last name or first name; 3) initialism; 4) diminutive form of the name; 5) nickname; 6) pseudonym; 7) with/without a descriptive indicator in pre-, postposition; 8) with/without an etiquette words, etc. The author can implicitly express the attitude to the refer-

ent through the use of certain transformation models. The transformation model forms depend on the pragmatic message of the journalist.

The section "THEORY AND PRACTICE OF TRANSLATION" presents 2 articles: of Professor L.A. Nefedova (Moscow, MPGU) and the Algerian colleague Ph.D. Milud Mohamed Rashid (University of Algiers 2 named after Abu Elkassem Saad Allah). Lyubov A. Nefedova analyzes pseudo-anglicisms in the German and Russian languages in the aspect of relevant trends of modern word formation. The author of the article stresses that formation of pseudoAnglicisms in German and Russian is based on the patterns of autochthonous word formation. Despite the presence of pseudo-Anglicisms as inter-lingual units in German and Russian, as Lyubov A. Nefedova notes, both languages enjoy pseudo-Anglicisms created by their native speakers, reflecting peculiarities of German and Russian cultures. The studied problem is of great importance for the theory and practice of translation.

In the article of Doctor of Philology M.R. Milud the problem of determining the relevance /irrelevance of basic semantic processes (polysemy, homonymy, synonymy and antonymy) for computer-based multilingual terminology is being investigated. As a result of the study, the author comes to a conclusion about the regularity of the existence of semantic processes, characteristic of general literary language, and in terminology. As M.R. Milud points out, the phenomena of polysemy, homonymy, synonymy and antonymy are reflected in computer terminology, but they are differentiated according to the frequency criterion: multi-valued terms dominate, then the terms-synonyms, terms-antonyms followed by the terms-homonym.

The section "SCIENTIFIC OVERVIEW" considers the scientific review of the problematics at the international conference "EDULEARN: Education and new technologies of education" (3.07. - 5.07.2017, Barcelona, Spain), and also contains a review of the monograph by Prof. Lyudmila G. Vedenina "A man in the lingua-ethno-cultural space." - M.: Languages of Slavic culture, 2017. - 664 pp., both prepared by Prof. Z.Ye Fomina.

The journal includes works of both Russian scientists working in different universities of our country, in particular, in Moscow (Peoples Friendship University of Russia), MGPU (Moscow City Pedagogical University, Lomonosov Moscow State University), Voronezh (Voronezh State University), VSTU (Voronezh State Technical University), Yekaterinburg (Ural Federal University), and foreign universities (USA, Germany (Karlsruhe University), Algiers (University of Algiers 2 named after Elkasem Abu Saad Allah)).

This issue is characterized by a wide range of problems and scientific directions, reflected in the publications of our domestic and foreign colleagues. The scientific problems of respected authors demonstrate topical trends in modern linguistic science, methods and didactics of teaching foreign languages, intercultural communication, theory and practice of translation, literary criticism and language philosophy.

We believe that this eighteenth Series will be interesting and useful for a wide range of philologists, foreign language teachers, culturologists, literary critics, philosophers, postgraduate students and students, as well as for all our respected domestic and foreign readers.

Statement of the problem. In the article at hand the particular features of Japanese as an agglutinating Ural-Altaic language are presented. Concerning its grammatical structure Japanese is depicted as a topic prominent language, which bears close resemblance to Korean.

Results. A specific feature of marking personal deixis is the differentiated Japanese honorific system which allows speakers to mark respect and submissiveness. The use of honorific markers helps speakers to avoid facethreatening acts. Honorific markers can be realized as partneror object-related honorifics. Local deixis in Japanese has a triadic structure according to the so-called Ko-So-A-system. By applying the Ko-morpheme the speaker refers to an object, the position of which is self-determined by the speaker. The So-morpheme refers to an object close to the addressee. The use of the A-morpheme finally refers to an object which is out of reach of the current speech context.

Conclusion. The embedding of relative clauses in Japanese is marked by its position in front of the relating noun. The nucleus of a sentence is as a general rule not represented in the relative clause. Such a representation only occurs if the nucleus appears as a genitive attribute or as a complement of the postpositional syntagm.

Key Words: Japanese, agglutinating, topic-prominent language, personal deixis, honorific system, honorifics, local deixis, Ko-So-A-system, triadic, relative clause, nucleus.

DIE BESONDERHEITEN DER JAPANISCHEN SPRACHE

Kostrzewa Frank

T o p i k - p r o mi n e n t e S p r a c h e n ( t o p i c - p ro m i n e n t l a n gu a g e s ) : Chinesisch, Lahu (eine tibeto-burmesische Sprache gesprochen in China, Thailand, Myanmar und Laos), Lisu (eine tonale tibeto-burmesische Sprache gesprochen in Yunnan im Südwesten Chinas, in

10

Scientific Journal “Modern Linguistic and Methodical-and-Didactic Researches” Issue № 3 (18), 2017 ISSN 2587-8093

kopffinale Adjektivphrase (AP): too aggressive

kopffinale Adverbphrase (AdvP): quite slowly

kopfinitiale Verbphrase (VP): run fast

kopfinitiale Präpositionalphrase (PP): under pressure

kopfinitiale to-Phrase (to-P): to study

kopfmediale Adjektivphrase (AP): very happy with it

kopfmediale Verbphrase (VP): carefully clean it

D a s H o n o r at i v s y st e m d e s J a p a n i s c h e n

Abraham 1994, 3):

Scientific Journal “Modern Linguistic and Methodical-and-Didactic Researches” Issue № 3 (18), 2017 ISSN 2587-8093
