MY FRIEND

Let me tell you about my friend. His first name is Aleksander. His surname is Petrov. He is 24 years old. He was born in Gatchina. His favourite subject at school was maths. Now he works as an electrician at a shipyard, and he is also a part-time student at the Marine Technical University. He is in his first year. Aleksander studies there to be a Bachelor of Engineering.

Aleksander’s family is not large. They are four in the family. His father’s name is Anton. He is 52 years old. He is an engineer. His mother’s name is Helen. She is 48. She is a housewife. Aleksander’s sister is a schoolgirl. Aleksander loves his family. They are all friends and they get on very well.

Aleksander has a lot of friends. Most of them are his former classmates and colleagues. At weekends they often spend time together, go for a walk or to a disco party, talk about classes, music, and discuss their problems. Aleksander likes listening to modern music and his favourite group is Serebro. He has little time for TV, but sometimes he spends an hour or two watching an interesting film or a news programme. In the evening Aleksander often reads books or magazines. He likes reading. He prefers detective stories and historical novels. He also likes fresh air and exercising outdoors, but he has no time to do sports.
