Основная функция ИБП:
-защита питаемой нагрузки от всех существующих помех в электросети:
-импульсных высоковольтных бросков, выбросов напряжения,

-нестабильности формы напряжения, интерференции,
полного отключения электропитания.
ИБП подключаются к вычислительным сетям через коммуникационный порт по модему, или сетевой адаптер. Для автоматического контроля и управления электропитанием используются программный пакет Power Management Software, который совместим со всеми основными операционными системами.
