Conclusion

Character’s crisis in analysed films is controlled by the feeling of being underrated by the society, therefor we can conclude that the ego is a driven force of protagonist’s will to escape the reality. Denial of the socially established norms forces a rebellious behaviour. Illusion of self-control precisely defines the postmodern world in the script. As well as this, appropriate surreal themes providing a springboard to the question of moral and contemporary environments explored within the films.

Metaphysics and parapsychology is nothing more than questioning reality in a philosophical way which forces the audience to explore the ideas of self-notion within the society. Charlie Kaufman investigates the boundaries created by the society and questions religious establishments. He doesn’t provide the resolution but rather give an insight to characters’ head and contemporary environment.
