My working day.
Good morning, dear teacher. Let me tell you some words about my usual working day. My classes begin at twenty minutes past nine, so on week-days my alarm-clock wakes me up at a half past seven in the morning. First I dim my bed and go to the bathroom to brush my teeth. I don’t take a cool shower in the morning because I don’t have enough time for it. After that I go back to my room and get dressed. Then I have breakfast. Usually I drink a cup of tea or coffee and eat sandwiches with sausage or cheese for a breakfast.
I leave the house at eight o’clock and walk to the nearest bus-stop. So I get to novogireevo metro-station by bus. I don’t live too far from the Institute and it usually takes me about an hour to get there.
The classes begin at twenty minutes past nine in the morning and they end at 3 or 5 o’clock in the afternoon. We have lectures in different subjects. As a rule we have three or four pairs a day. Sometimes it is very hard to wait till they end. Usually I don’t miss my pairs because I want to pass my exams successfully.
At a quarter to an hour we have lunch. That’s my favourite time. My friends and I prefer to go to one of many canteens that are situated in the Institute. At a quarter to two we have to be back to our classes. During the working day we also have several short breaks that last for ten minutes. Occasionally I have to stay in the Institute till 6 or 7 o’clock in the evening because I go to the library to get ready for my practical classes or to write a report. Sometimes I go to a hostel to my classmates and we do our practical classes together. As a rule I have no free time on week-days. So by the end of the week I get very tired. I come home at about 8 o’clock in the evening. Then I have supper.
After supper I wash my dishes, drink coffee or tea and watch TV. I prefer comedies and thrillers. At 9 o’clock I have to go for a walk with my dog. Sometimes I go to an exercise room on stadium or go for a walk with my friends. So I come home at about 11 o’clock and go to bed. I like to listen to some music or to repeat some important subjects before going to bed. But I try to go to bed earlier, because I know, that who early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.

Good morning, dear teachers. I’d like to tell you about The United Kingdom and the USA. To begin with I’ll tell you some words about The United Kingdom.
The United Kingdom, officially the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, is an island nation and constitutional monarchy in north-western Europe, member of the European Union (EU). Great Britain is the largest of the British Isles. The British Isles consist of two large islands, Great Britain and Ireland, and about five thousand small ones. Their total area is over 244000 square kilometers. Great Britain borders on the Irish Republic.
The UK is made up of four countries: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Their capitals are London, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast.
The UK is one of the world’s smallest countries, it’s population is about 56 millions people, but it has main natural resources like oil, gas and coal. The UK is one of the world’s leading commercial and industrialized nations. In terms of gross national product it ranks fifth in the world, with Italy, after United States, Japan, Germany, and France.
The climate of the United Kingdom is mild. The mildness is an effect of the warm Gulf Stream.
The UK is a constitutional monarchy. Officially the head of State is the King or Queen. But the monarchy today has no power. The country is ruled by the Government with the Prime Minister at the head. There are 4 main political parties in the UK: the Conservative, the Labor, the Liberal and the Social-Democratic Party.
And now some words about the Unite States of America. The USA is one of the greatest countries in the world. It is situated on the North American continent and is washed by three oceans: the Pacific, the Atlantic and the Arctic. And it borders on two countries – Canada and Mexico. There is the most famous to the whole world fall called Niagara Fall. Mississippi together with its tributary Missouri is the longest river in the world.
The USA was founded in 1776. It consists of 3 separate parts: the USA, Alaska and Hawaii. America has fifty states and one federal District of Columbia where the capital of the country is situated. The capital of the USA is Washington.
Under the Constitution, the federal government is divided into three branches. The Congress is vested with the legislative power and made up of two houses: the Senate and the House of Representatives. There are 435 members in the House of Representatives and 100 senators. Each state elects two members of the Senate. The executive branch is headed by the President, who proposes bills to Congress. The President is chosen in nation-wide elections every 4 years. The second person in executive branch is vice President. The judicial branch consists of Federal District Courts, 11 Federal Courts and the Supreme Court. Constitution is the most important document in the USA.
The population of the USA is very big: about 275 million. That’s why there are big cities, like New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago and Detroit.
