2 [Your title]

3 [Your title]

The main body of the thesis usually consists of three parts. The first part is the Analytical Literature Review, and the other two are unique for every thesis. The second part is usually more theoretical: you explain theoretical foundations of your research, principles and approaches that you follow, etc. The third part is practical: you explain how you applied/ verified the principles outlined in the second part, describe materials that you have used, the research process and the results that you have achieved. Make sure that the content of the main body matches the objectives outlined in the Introduction.

Conclusion

Summarize your findings and draw conclusions. Your conclusions should match objectives outlined in the Introduction and the content of the main body. Therefore, it is convenient to write final versions of the Introduction and the Conclusion at the same time, after you complete your research and write the main body of the thesis. Please do not give any new information in the Conclusion. The recommended length is 5 pages.

3 Layout

Please read this part carefully and follow all the recommendations. Your thesis should comply with NUST “MISIS” requirements for bachelor’s and master’s theses, even though you will write it in English.

3.1 General Requirements

The text should be clear and logical. The terms you use should be generally acceptable.

Please, avoid personal pronouns “I”, “we”, “you”, contractions (don’t, can’t), colloquial expressions. Stick to the academic style of writing.

Page format: A4.

Margins: 10 mm from the right side, 30 mm from the left side, 20 mm from the upper edge, 20 mm from the bottom edge; the main text should be aligned to both left and right margins (justified).

Font size: 14 (with size 16 for headings)

Indentation at the beginning of paragraphs: 1,25 cm

Every paragraph should be indented: there should be 1,25 cm between the left margin and the beginning of the first sentence, like in the paragraph you are reading now. There should be no additional spacing between paragraphs.

Spacing between lines and paragraphs: 1,5 (like in this text)

Spacing between a heading and text: 3 (leave one empty line). Spacing between a table/ picture and text: 3 (leave one empty line).

There should be no underlining either in the text or in headings.

All the headings should be included in the table of contents. Every part and sub-part should have a heading. Smaller (third-level) structural units do not have headings (it is better to avoid them). Do not put dots at the end of headings and after numbers before headings:

2 Organizational Change as a Communication Challenge

Every part should start from a new page. Sub-parts do not start from new pages. There should be a few lines of text between the heading of a part and the heading of its first sub-part, like on page 5 of these guidelines. Remember about additional spacing between headings and body text.

Abbreviations: you may abbreviate organizations’ names and long terms, but you should first use a full version with an abbreviation in brackets, and only then stick to the abbreviation, e.g.:

Information and Communications Technology (ICT) has become an integral part of our lives. It is impossible to ignore the spread of ICT in the modern world.

People’s names, organizations’ names and brand names may be given in their native language or transliterated. In the latter case, give the original name in brackets when you first use it.
