I. Прочитайте и переведите текст.

My Favourite Season

There are four seasons in a year as everybody knows. Every season is pleasant in its own way.

Summer is my favourite season. When summer comes, the weather will get warmer, and sometimes it may be very hot. It’s the farmer’s busiest season. The grass must be cut and the hay must be made, and everything waits for water. Sometimes the skies are covered with heavy clouds. There are often storms with thunder, lightning and hail.

In June the weather will set in, and June will be really one of the most pleasant months of the year. The days will become the longest as the sun will rise early and will set later than usual. The trees will be in leaf, roses will begin to blossom and their sweet perfume will fill the air.

But July is usually the warmest month of the year. Summer is in full beauty. The sky is always blue. The sun is bright and hot. After the rain the flowers smell sweet, the sun shines even brighter and the birds sing their merry songs.

In August the hot sun will ripen the corn and fruit. In the gardens one can see a lot of apples, pears, plums and peaches. It is very nice to have a walk through the fields and meadows because the countryside looks like a carpet of many colours.

Summer is the time for holidays. A lot of people will leave dusty towns for the seaside and countryside. At the weekends it will be so nice to go to the bank of the river to have a short rest, to swim or just lie in the sun.
