Контрольная работа №1 (для студентов 1 курса) Оформление контрольных работ
Каждое контрольное задание предлагается в пяти вариантах. Студент должен выполнить один из пяти вариантов в соответствии с последними цифрами шифра студенческого билета или зачетной книжки: если номер шифра заканчивается на 1 или 2 , выполняют вариант I; если на 3 или 4, - вариант II; на 5 или 6, - вариант III; если на 7 или 8, – вариант IV; если на 9 или 0, – вариант V.
1. Выполнять письменные контрольные работы следует в отдельной тетради или на листах формата А-4. Обязательным является наличие титульноголиста, на котором следует указать номер контрольной работы, название дисциплины (английский язык), специальность, группу, шифр зачетной книжки, фамилию, имя, отчество студента и фамилию, имяи отчество преподавателя.
При выполнении контрольной работы оставляйте место для замечаний и объяснений рецензента.
2. Материал контрольной работы следует располагать в зеркальном отражениипо следующему образцу:

Задания должны быть выполнены полностью и в той последовательности, в которой они предложены; условия заданий необходимо переписывать.
Если контрольная работа выполнена не в соответствии с указанными требованиями или не полностью, она возвращается студенту без проверки.
3. Полученная от преподавателя проверенная контрольная работа с замечаниями и методическими указаниями должна быть переработана (т.е. необходимо выполнить письменное исправление ошибок той части, где они имеются). Коррекция должна быть выполнена в той же тетради, что и контрольная работа.
Вариант 1
I. Translate into Russian.
The Engineering Department
The engine department of a merchant ship is headed by the Chief Engineer. Chief engineer gives orders for operation and maintenance of ship’s machinery system and is responsible for the entire engine room department.
Second Engineer/ First Assistant Engineer: He is associated with the day to-day activities in the engine room and is accountable to the Chief Engineer. He keeps the 2x4 watch during the daytime and is responsible for the general maintenance of the engine-room.
Third engineer/ Second Assistant Engineer: He reports to the second engineer. He keeps the 2x2 watch and where an electrical officer is not carried usually maintains the ships electrical equipment.
Fourth Engineer/ Third Assistant Engineer: This is the lowermost operational rank in the engineering department. The Fourth Engineer keeps the 8-12 watch and is often responsible for overhauling the pumps and maintaining the boilers when the ship is in port.
Fifth Engineer/ Engineering Cadet: is a trainee under the Second Engineer officer, and he assists and learns while observing and carrying out activities in the engine room. He would accompany a senior officer (mostly second engineer) during the watch duty.
The ratings that is non-officers, included on the staff of the engine department are most often named by their function as follows: electrician, fitter, oiler, motorman, pumpman, turner, welder, and wiper.
